Chemical valence bond theory for physicists
The last couple of years I have been learning more about valence bond theory in chemistry. Something that has really helped was a review article in Reviews of Computational Chemistry and a book by Shason Shaik and Philippe Hiberty.
Although the book is intended for chemists I think that (unlike many quantum chemistry books) it is quite accessible to physicists. I really appreciate the emphasis on concepts, qualitative differences, and chemical intuition.
Next week I will meet Philippe in Paris.
